I’m not terribly familiar with Philadelphia-based band, The Retinas but I plan to reconcile this oversight quickly! Their new single, “Problem with the World” is a chill, jangly blast of folk-pop with just the right amount of lo-fi humility to keep it earnest. The singer’s use of distortion and reverb, along with his sometimes strange yet endearing choices of articulation, further emphasize their ‘60s inspired sound; reminding me at times of early Dr. Dog. Listen to the single below and look out for their new self-titled album, set to release October 25th on Medical Records.
