I wrote about The Archivists earlier single, "Fairytale Endings" in which I describe their sound as channeling, "…the angst driven rock of the 00s that teetered on emo but carved out its own place, and The Archivist mange to carve out their own place as well." This new track shows The Archivist softening their sound a bit and creating a more open sonic space. It's still catchy, full of earworms and heartstring-tugs, but it's less of the tight alt-rock of "Fairytale Endings" and a bit more singer-song writer with a band that really clicks and some super slick production. It really demonstrates the range of this band and if these two singles are both from a forthcoming LP, I have pretty high expectations. Purchase on BandCamp and listen below:
