The Archivist—"Fairytale Endings"

"Fairytale Endings" is the new single from Philly rock band, The Archivist. As a librarian, I got very excited about their band name. Their press release mentions Brand New and Bayside as key inspirations and perhaps that's what this band is attempting to archive, a somewhat niche genre of music that's fallen by the wayside in recent years yet is still loved by millions (wayside/Bayside, see what I did there?). My silly puns aside, the band successfully channels the angst driven rock of the 00s that teetered on emo but carved out its own place, and The Archivist mange to carve out their own place as well. "Fairytale Endings" is a catchy, driving track that never lets up. With earworm vocal melodies and choppy guitars, it's a track that's sure to draw you in and never let go.
