Somehow, I never heard of Dogleg before today. They just released the first single off their upcoming full-length LP and it truly rocks. We can make endless comparisons since they are, after all, an emo band (a genre that’s quite insular) but I don’t think it’s even necessary. This is one of those special songs that only comes around once in a while. It’s punchy, high-energy, and catchy as hell. The track eventually dips into a beautiful break that blooms into an amazingly dramatic buildup climaxing with a bass fill (of all things!), before blasting you away with a final chorus. This song punches you in the gut in a way that leaves you both gasping for air and begging for more. Listen below.
