Deep Wimp—"You Again"

--Ada Wofford

----Released 19 March 2021

Brooklyn indie rockers, Deep Wimp recently released their second single of the year, "You Again." It's a dreamy, catchy, somewhat lo-fi affair with loose drums, reverb laden guitars, and meandering vocals shyly peaking over the mix. There's a bit of Sonic Youth, a bit of Pavement, but enough sheen on the production and enough tinkering with the composition to make the track more Deep Wimp than anything else. The guitar solo is subtle yet noisy, which is a combination I always enjoy. "You Again" manages to be sensitive and fun all at once with bright, chimey guitars and an overall sound that's perfect for the start of spring. Stream on Spotify and download via BandCamp. The song will be included on their forthcoming LP, People Are Young These Days to be released 4/16.
