Breakup Films are an indie band out of Tel Aviv. Their new single "Just Whenever" is a dreamy, mellow mix of danceable pop and melancholic ambience. There's a bit of 80s inspiration at work, with its slick production, wavy synth lines, and booming drums. It reminds me a bit of Porches' 2016 album Pool a bit in the way the entire track has this incredibly tight feel to it, but at the same time everything sounds kind of watery. It's a difficult aesthetic to describe, but it's not at all difficult to enjoy. If you like dreampop, danceable beats, and catchy vocals, definitely check out "Just Whenever."
