Philly rock band, Bad Sleeper's new track, "Take It Back" is a riff heavy, melodious powerhouse of a song. The band melds stoner metal riffage, with more contemporary power-chord chugs, adorned with melodic vocals—It's a mix that might sound odd but Bad Sleeper wields their magic and makes it all work. The track is also very progressive, constantly evolving and telling that old verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge structure to go to hell. The band's tight, but not so tight that they sound sterile. The guitar solo is cool because it's not just shred-fest, it has a bit more bite and character to it. And the track doesn't let up for a single second, growing and evolving until the last note. If you're a fan of Tool, Spiritbox, Crashing Atlas, Black Sabbath, and Sorid Pink then definitely check out "Take It Back." Download via BandCamp and listen below:
